ABOUT FOOTHILL FARM & GARDEN
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m extraordinarily passionate about growing and preserving food.
We have a small farm in the Cascades foothills. We grow our own fruit and vegetables, and we also raise animals: chickens and ducks for eggs, and cows and pigs for meat. We keep goats on our property for pasture control —and for entertainment.
I’ve been farming here since 2007. But I’ve been a hobby farmer since 1979. And I grew up on a small farm in Marion County, where my mother often remarked with pride that everything she put on the table came from the farm, except for flour and salt. I seek the same goals, to feed my family from my farm, ensuring supremely healthy food. Our small farm offers great gifts and blessings, with offerings every season of the year. I work to the best of my ability to make use of all this land offers, without waste.
My passion for growing food grew into a new passion, to preserve the harvest in creative and safe ways. Now, I enjoy sharing my twin passions with others, especially new gardeners.
